Weiden am See

The national park town Weiden am See is located on the Northern banks of the Neusiedler Lake, surrounded by the region’s fascinating landscapes. Tourism and wine lay the economic foundation of the city’s 2,000 inhabitants.  The reed forest of the Neusiedler Lake with its many bird species, its protected grasslands which remind us of the Hungarian Puszta, are a paradise for friends of nature. The beautiful location at the lake allows for a variety of water sports and leisure time fun for the entire family.

The climate with its hot, dry summers is conducive to the growing of wine. You can discover the wide fields of the Parndorf Plate and the cultural landscape of the vineyards by foot, by bike, or during a romantic carriage ride. The harmonious mix of a rural town, modern tourism and winegrowing has been well accomplished in Weiden am See.
